Fundraising for Patient Care Center is in Full Swing

After years of planning and focus, the dream is about to become a reality.  The UMSL Patient Care Center – which may represent the most beautiful such facility in the country – is ready to open its doors in the Fall.

The current fundraising efforts are projected toward room sponsorship, which is intended to provide for technology and equipment throughout the facility.  The plan is for the facility to have all new equipment, including state of the art special test instruments.  With  new equipment, the student and patient experience will be commensurate with the well-designed facility.

Currently, a comprehensive fund-raising program is underway which encourages alumni to sponsor one of the 32 examination rooms, various special test rooms, research space, and specialty clinic areas.  By now every alumnus should have received a packet of information that includes a brochure of the facility, a list of the rooms to be sponsored, an information letter from one or two class representatives, and a contribution card that can be returned to the college. If you did not receive this information please contact Ed Bennett at ebennett@umsl.edu.

The goal is for every class to at least sponsor an examination room.  This would be the equivalent of 25 members of the class donating $200 per year for five years.  Donors will be recognized appropriately throughout the facility as well as in college publications.    Although it is a multi-year initiative, pledges and contributions received by the end of August will be showcased during the grand opening and continuing education events to be scheduled in the fall.

If you also know of any individuals or companies that would be interested in sponsorship please let us know, or they are welcome to contact either Ed Bennett or either of our Co-chairs involved with this project: Barbara Brown (’88) at barbwbrown@sbcglobal.net or call/text 314-496-1064] or Terry Swinger, tswinger2000@yahoo.com or call/text (573) 359-4417 with any questions they might have.

We hope that all of our alumni, if possible, can come back to campus in the near future to see the facility our college has needed and deserved for a long time.  If you have already made your commitment to sponsor the Patient Care Center, we thank you! We would love to see you come back to enjoy the results of your generosity and the corresponding recognition you have deservedly received.
